Kitab al-Asrar (also known as Sirr al-Asrar, meaning “The Secret Book of Secrets”) is a medieval work purportedly written as a letter from Aristotle to his student Alexander the Great. It covers a wide range of topics, including statecraft, ethics, physiognomy, astrology, alchemy, magic, and medicine. Originally written in Arabic, it has been translated into several languages, including Latin and Persian. The work fascinated European intellectuals during the High Middle Ages .

It’s interesting to note that Aristotle and Alexander the Great never actually exchanged such letters, and the work is considered pseudo-Aristotelian. Its content is a blend of science, philosophy, and mysticism. From ethics to magic, from astrology to healing arts, Kitab al-Asrar is a captivating collection of knowledge from a bygone era.
